What is mochi?
Mochi is made by cooking glutinous rice and kneading it.
The history is old, as you can see from the Nara period books about 1300 years ago. And, from ancient times, it has been said that it is a mysterious food as a special existence where God dwells.
Efficacy of mochi
Mochi contains a lot of sugar. The carbohydrate content of “rice” is 37.1g out of 100g, while the amount of mochi is 50.3g.
Some athletes, such as marathon runners and triathlons, eat mochi before the game in competitions that require endurance. This is because a small amount can provide a lot of nutrition. However, it is important to note that it is delicious and you just end up eating too much.
How to cook mochi
Bake in the oven until the mochi swells.
Alternatively, boil in boiling water until soft.
